Can you believe it’s already the end of June? We are down to the last half of the year and now is the perfect time to check in with your 2017 goals. I’ve had a pretty productive first half of 2017 but majority of the time I find myself stuck on a creative block. Whenever that happens, I couldn’t bring myself to do anything and that brings out a myriad of negative thoughts like self-doubt and insecurities.

According to the book The Secret, “The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe.”

vision board

Every successful person first had to believe their goals and dreams were possible. I then realized that reaching whatever it is that our hearts desire begins with visualization. That’s where vision boards come into the picture. Steve Harvey himself believes in the power of vision boards: “Man if I didn’t have a Vision Board, I’d be in trouble!”

Creating your vision board is very easy. All you need is a board, (poster board, illustration board, card board, etc. I used a canvas board that I no longer use.) Then, collect photos you find inspiring and will motivate you to reach your goals. Want to lose weight? print out fitspiration quotes. Itching to go on a cruise before the end of the year? Get a photo of your dream destination.

Your vision board can include words that affirm your intentions. The photos I gathered are quotes that will remind me to keep chasing my passions in life whether that’d be writing or venturing into new ones like photography.

Somehow, we must silence that little voice in our head that reminds us of our limiting beliefs and reasons why we will never achieve what it is we want. But that’s why vision boards are important because it contains affirmations that that little voice dreads the most.

These boards evoke feelings of joy, allowing you to shift your energy to a more positive one. They are not only fun to make but they’re very powerful as they teach your subconscious mind that it IS possible for your goals to manifest.

They appeal to both your conscious and subconscious mindset, working its magic into the core of your being and allowing you to steer your life in the direction you choose.

Create your vision board today and live with purpose, passion and optimism!
